US Business Bank Account and KYC Support for Non-Residents
NYBACS Services
For non-US founders and foreign-owned US companies that need a US business bank, fintech or payment account and want to give the institution what it needs the first time. We review your company records, build a KYC pack that clearly shows who owns and controls the business, what it does and where its money comes from, help you approach institutions that fit your profile and handle follow-up questions. The institution makes the decision; we make the file clear and consistent.
Who this service is for
- Non-resident owners of new US LLCs and C-Corps opening their first US account
- Founders whose application was declined, frozen or stuck in repeated document requests
- US subsidiaries of overseas groups with corporate shareholders and multi-layer ownership
- Ecommerce and SaaS businesses preparing for Stripe, PayPal, Amazon or other payment processor onboarding
- Companies adding a second banking relationship for resilience or multi-currency needs
Why clients come to us
Key problems we solve
Ownership that is hard to follow
US banks must identify and verify the individuals who own or control a business customer. Holding companies, trusts or nominee arrangements without a clear ownership chart are a frequent cause of delay or decline.
No proof the business is real
A new company with no website, contracts, invoices or explanation of expected transactions looks like a shell to a compliance team, even when the business is genuine.
Inconsistent details across documents
Different addresses, spellings or business descriptions on the formation certificate, EIN letter, website and application trigger extra review.
Applying to the wrong institution
Traditional banks, fintech platforms and payment processors have different appetites for non-resident owners, countries and industries. Repeated declines can make later applications harder.
Scope of work
What’s included
Banking readiness review
Check of your formation documents, EIN letter, governing documents, address, website and ownership for gaps and inconsistencies an onboarding team will notice.
KYC and beneficial ownership pack
Organised set of certified entity documents, ownership chart traced to individuals, identification and address proof for owners and controllers, signatory resolutions and, for corporate owners, a certificate of incumbency or equivalent.
Business activity and source-of-funds evidence
A concise business profile with expected monthly volumes, countries and counterparties, supported by contracts, invoices, website and a clear explanation of where initial funding comes from.
Institution fit and application support
Guidance on which types of banks, fintech platforms and payment processors typically fit your owner nationality, industry and transaction profile, and help completing applications accurately.
RFI and follow-up handling
Drafting responses and assembling documents for the institution's requests for information, so follow-up questions are answered once, completely.
Address, phone and post-opening setup
Coordination of a US business address and phone number where needed, and connection of the new account to bookkeeping so activity stays explainable at periodic KYC reviews.
What this service does not include
- Any promise of approval — every bank, fintech and payment processor makes its own risk-based decision
- Opening accounts in our name, acting as a nominee owner or signatory, or holding or moving client funds
- Presenting business activity, ownership or source of funds as anything other than what is true
- Legal advice on sanctions, export controls or regulated financial activity
- Influencing an institution's internal review or timelines
How it works
Our process
- 1
Profile review
We review your entity, owners, business model, countries involved and expected transactions, and flag issues that commonly lead to declines.
- 2
Fix and align records
We correct inconsistencies, complete missing governance documents and make sure names and addresses match across every record.
- 3
Build the KYC pack
We assemble ownership, identity, activity and source-of-funds evidence into a clear, indexed pack.
- 4
Shortlist and apply
We discuss suitable institution types with you and support accurate applications, including any video or in-person verification steps.
- 5
Answer requests
We help respond to requests for information until the institution reaches its decision, and adjust the approach if an application is declined.
Documents we’ll ask for
- Certificate of formation or incorporation, EIN confirmation letter and operating agreement or bylaws
- Ownership chart and register showing every owner of 25% or more and the person with significant management control
- Passport and proof of residential address for each owner, director, officer and authorized signer
- For corporate owners: certificate of incorporation, register of shareholders and directors, and a board resolution (apostilled if requested)
- Website, product or service description, customer contracts or invoices and supplier agreements
- Expected monthly incoming and outgoing volumes, main countries and counterparties
- Evidence of the source of initial funds, such as the owner's or parent's bank statements
Typical timelines
Account opening timelines are set by each institution and cannot be promised.
- Readiness review and KYC pack: typically 3–7 business days once documents are received; longer if governance documents must be created or ownership records corrected.
- Fintech and payment processor onboarding: often days to a few weeks after submission.
- Traditional banks: commonly several weeks, and some require an in-person branch visit by a signer.
Additional requests for information, complex ownership, higher-risk industries or countries can extend any of these timelines.

Why NYBACS
Honest about who decides
We do not sell approvals. We prepare a truthful, well-organised file and tell you where your profile is likely to face questions before you apply.
Banking built into setup
Unlike formation-only providers, we prepare entity documents with KYC in mind from day one, so bank applications are not the first test of your records.
Experienced with foreign ownership
Multi-layer groups, corporate shareholders, apostilled documents and source-of-funds narratives for Indian, GCC, UK and APAC owners are routine for us.
Ongoing account health
Clean bookkeeping and organised records help when your bank runs periodic KYC reviews or asks about unusual transactions.
One desk for the whole stack
Formation, EIN, compliance, bookkeeping and banking support stay consistent because one team manages them.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Can a non-resident open a US business bank account without visiting?
Often, yes, with fintech platforms and some banks that verify identity online. Many traditional banks still require a signer to visit a branch. We help you choose based on your timeline and travel plans.
Do I need an SSN or ITIN?
The company uses its EIN. Individual owners usually verify identity with a passport, though some institutions or products request an ITIN or other US identifiers. Requirements vary by institution.
Why was my application declined without a reason?
Institutions often do not explain declines. Common causes are unclear ownership, missing proof of activity, high-risk countries or industries, inconsistent documents or a mismatch with the institution's appetite. We review your file to identify likely causes before reapplying.
Will using a virtual office address cause problems?
It can. Some institutions accept registered agent or virtual addresses for mail but want a real operating or residential address for owners. We make sure every address in your file is accurate and explained.
Can you help with Stripe or PayPal onboarding too?
Yes. Payment processors review website content, refund policies, product descriptions and ownership in a similar way to banks. We help prepare those elements alongside your bank KYC pack.
